Let Us Eat Cake!

Rural is searching for the best in the northern Illinois / southern Wisconsin area…and we are beginning our search for the best bakeries/cake artists. (Because what is a party without cake?)

We are on a quest to find local businesses and artists whose services help to make any celebration better.
We will visit businesses and share photos and information on our blog and Facebook page. Leave a comment here or on our Facebook page  http://www.facebook.com/RuralEvents  to nominate your favorite bakery or cake artist!

Wedding Invitations become Fabulous Jewelry!

Our favorite local jewelry artist, Mona Lindvall of mLindvall…inspired design, provides a beautiful example of repurposing and recycling…Mona recently created the pieces shown in the photo below as a gift for some very fortunate newlyweds. The couple's wedding invitations became wearable keepsakes!

"This was a custom order from wedding guests to honor the bride and groom at their steampunk-themed wedding! The groom's bracelet was crafted from the copper sheet of the invitation...the brides's from the gears and washers that were attached!"

   Wonderful!

repurpose, reuse, restyle.

When planning your next event or celebration, why not think green? No, not the color green, necessarily; but green as in recycled, reused, or repurposed. Rural will soon be offering a large selection of rentable items for your next party or photo shoot.
Our vintage items can be repurposed in so many ways! It simply takes a little imagination and creativity. We've got that. If you would like to use special pieces of your own, but aren't sure how to incorporate them into your theme, we can help with that as well. I will be sharing several examples of repurposing and restyling in the future. Today, I have a couple of photos to give you a glimpse of what I am referring to. Enjoy.

photo shoot on the farm!

With temps in the nineties, why not head to the farm for a photo shoot, right? Right! We had a good time trying to capture some nice shots of a few rental items. We are building our catalog and it is coming along quite nicely. Check out our “something borrowed – rentals” page by clicking on the page tab above. We have hundreds of items to add, so please check back often to see what is new!
I appreciate your patience as we build our web pages...and thank you for joining us along the way!
I hope you enjoy the photos…
